When I drive this car, I'm not nice to it while driving. Do I drive my STi to work every day or to a grocery store once a week.NO. Does it remove stock piston failure or turbo failure after only a few hours of continuous use.NO. Even if solenoid was needed some how,so what. Anti-lag has been around for a long time. Some of us are willing to break things only to rebuild stronger. That's like saying I haven't thought things through when I launch my car at 5500-5800 rpms at a prepped track. Fiat500USA.^^You are wrongfully concluding I know nothing about the drawbacks of running anti-lag.Quick Navigation Fiat 500 ABARTH General Discussion Top I pulled readings and it was mid-range on all readings, so the factory one was simply causing the car to run leaner. Thinking it was defective, I replaced it with another of better quality same results. When the primary O2 failed, the replacement got 2MPG less. Annedcotal, I had a car that got great mileage for 60K miles. I'd assume the second O2 sensor provides feedback on deceleration? A properly functioning cat system eliminates most of that unburned fuel. but probably ignites further back in the pipe where additional air is provided. If it ignites with the exhaust valves open, that can be a bit hard on them, too. Unburned fuel is escaping and being ignited in the exhaust, which isn't really designed for that sort of thing. The pops and bangs are a bit of inefficiency. The fuel/air mix might be an odd mix, harder to ignite, so the plugs may not ignite (partially burn off) that mix. I'd assume intake valves open to allow additional air, if needed for the cat. On the 500 it should turn off the injectors on deceleration. As you know, the ECU controls the fuel/air supply and ignition. I'd think, if it's malfunctioning or on the edge of tolerances, it could contribute.
